{"id":798,"date":"2013-01-14T03:21:59","date_gmt":"2013-01-14T03:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ewens.net.nz\/familyadventure\/?p=798"},"modified":"2013-01-14T03:22:53","modified_gmt":"2013-01-14T03:22:53","slug":"te-vara-nui","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ewens.net.nz\/familyadventure\/?p=798","title":{"rendered":"Te Vara Nui"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, wow and wow. \u00a0Te Vara Nui is so worth while a visit. \u00a0The whole complex has been designed and built in an area that a few years ago was a swamp.<\/p>\n<div>I particularly liked the fact that a young Cook Islander (Moana, daughter of Vara, who the village is named after) and her husband built this business. \u00a0A lot of young islanders leave Rarotonga for New Zealand or Australia, but they had an idea and made it work. \u00a0The gardens are truly beautiful and Chris in particular appreciated them as he and his family own the &#8216;Wright&#8217;s Water Garden&#8217; He didn&#8217;t really like it&#8230;:-)<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At \u00a0the end of all that it was time for dinner. \u00a0We were seated and had a very nice buffet dinner, followed by the dance show. \u00a0The show was very good, sadly I have no good photos of any of the amazing dancers, as I wasn&#8217;t in charge of the camera that night. \u00a0Something was wrong with the it was very late for the children and Tessa and Nick nearly went to sleep on the bench between dinner and the dance. \u00a0Ben, our little night owl, wasn&#8217;t fazed by the
