They have a great place here called the Fossie House. It is open every week day from 14:00 until 17:00 for primary school aged children who can come with or without their parents. It is open so children can drop in by themselves and the place is staffed by four adults who are trained educators, social workers etc.
The main building is a beautiful old fashioned style wooden house and it’s warm and inviting inside, with the outside area being rugged and full of interesting things to do. The most amazing thing is that it is free to go there with the expectation that you might pay Euro 2 as a coffee/tea contribution if you come more regularly. They offer hot fruit tea and coffee as well as water. On some afternoons they have planned activities for which there is a small contribution, we haven’t been to any of those but we have been there on a few occasions and the boys have always enjoyed it. Jana used to go there when she was little and we were told that it is ok for students who have just left primary school to still come back and visit. So Jana and Tessa have been a couple of times as well. We have to walk through a lovely little forest to get there and it is a ten minute walk from our apartment. Here are some images:
