My Adventures So Far…

Hello Everyone,

Before I start I want to say I know that it is bad I haven’t been writing on the blog. I have no excuse! I think I should start from the beginning of our adventure, Auckland Airport.

We arrived at the airport extremely excited 3 hours before our departure. Early enough not to have to wait in any lines for baggage checks.  After we had all sent our luggage on it’s way we went to a waiting area with shops and toilets. Before this we took lots of group photos on several cameras and phones. We waited in the waiting area until we were called over the speakers. By this time I was extremely nervous and excited. Even though we were first in the boarding lounge we were one of the last to board the plane.  I sat with Rangiatea and Jenny (the two other girls in the team). It was pitch black by this time and the only thing we could see was the lights over the watch towers and the other vechiles around the runway.  As we took off I felt a surge of realisation that I wouldn’t be seeing Auckland, my friends or Dad for another two and a half months. This was over soon enough as we got into the videos and the stash of lollies we had brought along. The first flight was the flight I found the best. It was the steadiest and at night so if you looked out the window you wouldn’t see anything or be able to realise how high we really were.  The pilot on our first trip was a Sir Someone so we were lucky with him and it was because of him my confidence in flying was boosted. When we arrived in Hong Kong, where we were to wait for 6 hours we were all happy with how our journey had gone so far.  The destination of our next flight was Tianjin, China.  By the time we had landed in Tianjin we were all ready to fall into a nice comfortable bed. First though we had to travel to our first hotel in Beijing a 3 hour car trip where we got our first taste of Chinese driving which I am sure you have heard about.  We travelled by a shuttle bus to our very nice hotel in Beijing. This is where the excitement starts. Sadly my turn is up for blogging but I will hopefully continue sometime today.

See you soon
